Is this map official?

The pins are the National Weather Service's own storm reports for South Carolina: hail of three quarters of an inch and up, and wind damage reports. Double J Builds pulls them twice a day. Nothing is added by hand.

A pin landed near me. What now?

Stay off the roof. Take a few photos from the ground, open a file on this site, and Double J Builds comes out, looks, and tells you straight whether there is damage.

No pin near me. Am I safe?

Usually, but not always. Reports come from spotters and stations, so a storm can hit a street with no one reporting it. If you saw hail or heard shingles go, have it looked at.

Will you tell me my roof is damaged when it is not?

No. Fair people, fair prices, and a straight answer even when the answer is "your roof is fine." That is the whole reputation.
